Citizen-Led Circular Economy Transitions

Circular Economy models are being implemented globally to design out waste from our unsustainable systems.

We facilitated a number of collaborative workshops with a range of community, council and organisational stakeholders to understand what a transition to a circular economy might look like in NSW.

Reframing Circularity for the Australian context.

Workshop explorations led to a unique framing of the Circular Economy in Australia, around an ethic of Care.

Conceptualising Circular Communities.

Framing Circularity around Care helped to understand how citizens, organisations and communities could play a part in transitioning to regenerative and zero-waste communities. We co-produced a range of concepts and principles to provoke Circular practices within communities, underpinned by an ethic of Care.

A process for engaging communities in change.

It was clear that every Place had its own unique way in transitioning to a circular future, and therefore needed a unique co-designed approach to engaging and supporting them. We developed a process and governance model to help communities on that path.
