Raising awareness about responsible gambling in young Australian adults.

An animation funded by a NSW Office of Responsible Gambling grant, and designed in partnership with UTS students and animators Studio Hackett.

australians love gambling

“Australians bloody love gambling.”

The animation highlights how pervasive and unseen gambling is in Australian culture, which can easily influence an individual’s gambling habits. Speaking especially towards young adults, it draws parallels between gambling and some forms of gaming as an example of this. The animation aims to avoid being moralising or judgemental in tone, in favour of being more like the voice of a friend.

Mash-Up

Designed in collaboration students and targeted towards a young adult audience, the look & feel was inspired by millennial internet humour, gaming and meme culture - with its absurd mash-ups and fast-paced imagery - challenging and and poking fun at mainstream Australian gambling advertising and culture.
